World Explorer Stops by Joglo Green House: Exploring Integrated BSF Maggot Farming

Joglo Green House recently welcomed a special guest, Mr. Alexye, a world traveler who explores various countries in his personal car. During his journey, Mr. Alexye stopped by Joglo Green House to experience the unique atmosphere of Yogyakarta and learn about the innovative integrated farming system of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot cultivation, combined with egg-laying poultry farming and freshwater fish farming, such as catfish and tilapia. Mr. Alexye’s interest stemmed from his desire to learn about sustainable agricultural systems in the countries he visits.

During his time at Joglo Green House, Mr. Alexye observed firsthand how the BSF maggot farming cycle is integrated with poultry and aquaculture systems, where BSF maggots are used as an efficient and environmentally friendly alternative feed for chickens and freshwater fish. The use of maggots in animal feed helps reduce dependence on conventional feed while also utilizing organic waste. “I am impressed by the innovation I have seen here. This integrated system is an ideal solution that is in harmony with nature,” said Mr. Alexye.

This visit further underscores the appeal of Joglo Green House to international guests seeking inspiration for sustainable farming. Through its integrated maggot, livestock, and aquaculture systems, Joglo Green House hopes to continue inspiring visitors to develop sustainable practices across the globe.
