Joglo Farm Inspires BSF Maggot Development in Japan

Joglo Farm once again welcomed special international guests eager to learn about Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot farming. In 2023, visitors from Europe and Asia expressed great interest in understanding how organic waste can be managed using maggots, particularly as a sustainable alternative protein source. Among the guests was Mr. Kota, who works at Japfa in Bandung and is keen on developing this farming method in Japan.

During his visit, Mr. Kota and other guests were given a firsthand look at the maggot production process at Joglo Farm, from selecting raw materials to advanced lifecycle management techniques. As a professional in the poultry sector, Mr. Kota recognized the significant potential of BSF maggots as feed for chickens and other poultry in Japan. “This visit has been an eye-opening experience. I hope to implement these maggot farming techniques in Japan and develop them as an eco-friendly poultry feed solution,” he stated.

The visit by Mr. Kota and other guests demonstrates that Joglo Farm’s innovative maggot farming practices have the potential to inspire sustainable waste management solutions on a global scale. Joglo Farm hopes this collaboration will continue, spreading sustainable farming solutions that meet the needs of livestock feed in countries worldwide.
